A life grown at home

Homemade deodorant was the first homemade skin product that I ever tried. I was just getting into a more natural life and wanted to start with deodorant. We were living in Texas at the time, and none of the commercial deodorants I used seemed to work with the sweltering heat. I was tired of constantly smelling.

So I tried this recipe, but without much hope. How on earth would a homemade recipe work better than the commercial formulas? I made it anyway, because I had all the ingredients and it couldn’t hurt to try it.

Much to my surprise, it worked amazingly well! I no longer had to deal with the body odor smell and it lasted all day in the hot, humid heat of Texas! I was a believer in natural homemade products from that day forth! It really sparked my interest in everything homemade.

So I hope you try out this recipe! My mom uses nothing else and she’s struggled with sensitive skin. You can even decrease the amount of baking soda if it’s still too abrasive for your skin, but it won’t work as well. It’s the baking soda that really soaks up all the odors and leaves you smelling fresh.
