For my next recipe, I really wanted to do one of my childhood favorites. Most kids when they think of mac ‘n cheese, think of the blue box from the store. Not me! My mom made this absolutely delicious macaroni and cheese, ever since i could remember. I don’t even remember having the boxed stuff until I was a teen!
The funny thing is when I look at all the recipes online for homemade macaroni and cheese. They have all these fancy cheeses and usually mustard? Mustard in your macaroni and cheese? I absolutely couldn’t believe it! I’ve even tried some of those recipes, and I was not impressed. That probably has to do with the fact that I am NOT a fan of mustard!
I keep going back to absolutely yummy recipe that even my kids get excited about. The surprising thing is how simple it is! It’s literally macaroni pasta, cubed cheddar cheese and milk. That’s it. Three ingredients that I always have on hand! It’s also pretty simple to make, so it’s perfect for those nights when you don’t know what to make, don’t have meat defrosted, and you’ve only got a couple hours in which to make dinner.
Of course, there is so many ways to serve this macaroni and cheese! You can eat it as the main dish (my favorite!), add meat to it (like ham or bacon), or serve it as a side dish. We usually make a meal of ham steaks, macaroni and cheese and green beans. It’s a family favorite!
I hope you like this simple foo, just as much as we do! It’s a simple, easy dish, where the possibilities are endless! I hope you enjoy!
