A life grown at home

Speaking of childhood favorites, these are the cookies of my childhood! My mom didn’t have a lot of homemade, from scratch dessert recipes, but the ones she did have were amazing! That definitely goes for these chocolate chip cookies! I don’t think I’ve found a chocolate chip cookie that I like better!

Growing up, we enjoyed these cookies hot and fresh out of the oven, but to be honest, my favorite part has always been eating the cookie dough. To this day, it’s still my favorite and we’re just as likely to have the cookie dough as having the cookies themselves! The kids love them both ways, so much so that my husband is lucky to get any cookies when he gets home from work!

The best way to bake these chocolate chip cookies is to when they’re soft and only barely cooked. It keeps them soft and fresh. If you like a bit of crunch, then just bake them for a minute or two longer.

You can use any type of chocolate chips you like, but my personal favorite is milk chocolate. It’s pretty much the best chocolate in the world and you won’t be able to change my mind! I abhor any type of dark chocolate. As for white chocolate, I’ve grown to like it, but I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to my chocolate chip cookies!

I hope you enjoy this recipe just as our family does!
